The final version of the Design Guide for Confined Masonry Construction is now available. The guide is available at both the WHE site (https://world-housing.net/tutorials/confined-masonry/tutorials) and the confined masonry network website at http://www.confinedmasonry.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/Conf_Mas_Guide_July_2011.pdf. Svetlana Brzev and Roberto Meli led a large international team that worked to combine information from many different countries into a Design Guide that can be used for low-rise construction. Work continues, under the leadership of EERI members Tim Hart and Sergio Alcocer on an engineered guide for highrise confined masonry construction.
